They're remaking Disney's A Christmas Carol!

It has just been announced that they will be remaking Disney's A Christmas Carol! Still starring the lovable but miserly Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge, they have decided to change around the casting for the supporting players just a little bit.

But The Year of the Blog has a secret leak... so here is the new cast!

  • Ebenezer Scrooge: The Miserly Scrooge McDuck
  • Bob Cratchit: The Poor and Kind Hearted Peter Parker
  • Jacob Marley: Jean Grey as the resurrected Phoenix
  • The Ghost of Christmas Past: The Brilliant Mr. Fantastic
  • The Ghost of Christmas Present: The Fat KingPin
  • The Ghost of Christmas Future: Ghost Rider (played by Nic Cage)
  • Tiny Tim: The Crippled Professor Xavier

I can't wait for this.

The New Disney Mantra

In response to several jokes and criticisms of this large merger, Disney has released this statement:

"We at Disney think that this acquisition was well worth the $4 billion dollars, and will be very beneficial for both parties, adding to the disney cast of characters while offering Marvel the far reach that Disney has over the world's entertainment industry. We do not intend to significantly alter any of the Marvel cast of characters, however in the upcoming Thor movie we have added a quintet of singing ethnic girls who will interrupt the action a la Little Shop of Horrors and sing about 'Thor the Hero.'

Rest assured, it will still be much better than The Hulk starring Eric Bana."

I will agree with the second part.

Introducing the new mutant

Adding to the legion of crime fighting mutants known as the x-men, it has been reported that Professor Xavier has found another young special child to take on Magneto and his brotherhood:

Max "Maximillian" Goof

Mutant Power: Skateboarding.
Role in the X-Men: Comic Relief and Skateboarding.
Arch-Nemesis: New Member of the Brotherhood and Money Hoarder Scrooge McDuck

Maximillian also is able to proove cool despite his father being ridiculously goofy.

It was reported today...

It was reported today that Disney will be purchasing Marvel for $4 billion dollars. As quoted from WIRED:

The Walt Disney Co. is in the process of buying Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion in cash and stock. The deal would give the Mouse House ownership of Marvel’s 5,000 superhero characters.

If Disney doesn’t neuter Marvel’s stable of superheroes — a colorful and expanding universe with deep pulp roots and characters that have proven to be extremely popular over the years — the deal could help the comic book giant extend its recent Hollywood success and expand its overseas operations.

Here's my prediction: Disney will neuter Marvel's stable of superheroes. I have devoted this blog to how they will do this.
